Retired pharmaceutical executive with 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, M&A, and international business. Twenty plus year resident of Irvine. Married to Susan Masterson with two grown daughters who attended public schools in the Irvine Unified School District. Worked at Valeant Pharmaceuticals International (now Bausch Health). Final role as Chairman of Valeant Interntional SRL located in Barbados where he was responsible for all corporate merger and acquisition activities (2004-2012). Prior to Valeant (1989-2004) held various roles in sales, marketing, and business development at TAP Pharmaceuticals (TAP), a joint venture between Abbott Laboratories and Takeda Chemicals Inc. of Japan. During his time at TAP also completed his Masters of Management at the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. Grew up in Pennsylvania and attended the University of Virginia on a NROTC scholarship. Upon graduation in 1981 served seven years in Naval Special Operations as a rescue and salvage diver and explosive ordnance disposal technician. Honorably discharged in 1989. Since retiring in 2012 has volunteered and served on the boards of various charities including Mercy House, Irvine Public School Foundation (Chairman), the Noble Vikings of Orange County, and the Ocean Institute. Rich is an active golfer and skier and continues to enjoy family trips and scuba diving with his wife and daughters
