Founded and headquartered in Santa Ana, Mercy House has been operating homeless services in Orange County since 1990 when our founder, Father Jerome T. Karcher, met a young man experiencing homelessness. Beginning with a transitional residence serving 10 single men, Mercy House now operates a complete system of care in Orange County consisting of outreach, emergency shelters, transitional facilities, and permanent residences. Our vast range of services assist single adults to full families experiencing homelessness in one of the most expensive counties in America. We are very thankful to the Orange County community for supporting our programs and services over the past 35+ years and into the future.
